Hola chingonas!
I want to share something personal with you about the holidays. Growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness, I didn’t celebrate Christmas or have the traditions many people look forward to every year. Even now, I don’t have an immediate family to share the season with, and truthfully, this time of year can feel a little complicated.
But here’s what I’m learning: I don’t need to rely on traditions I didn’t grow up with. I can create my own. Whether it’s something as simple as making tamales, watching cheesy holiday movies, or just treating myself to buena música y cafecito, I’m determined to make this season special for me.
For many of us, the holidays are bittersweet. Maybe you're missing loved ones, navigating family drama, or just feeling the weight of being single while everyone else seems coupled up. And that’s okay. You’re not alone in this.
🎄Tips for Finding Joy This Holiday Season🎄
Haz tus propias tradiciones: Like me, start small and make traditions that feel good for you—even if it’s just lighting a veladora and reflecting on the year.
Busca alegrĂa en las pequeñas cosas: A cozy blanket, a good book, or a steaming taza de chocolate abuelita can bring comfort.
Dale amor a tu familia elegida: Sometimes friends, coworkers, or community become the family we lean on, and that’s beautiful.
Recuerda, mija, you are enough: If all you can do this season is get through it, that’s enough. You’re enough.
One way I’ve found healing during the holidays is through the joy of giving—not just to others, but to myself. A thoughtful gift can be a small way to remind someone (or yourself) how special they are.

My Tradition: Starting New Memories
I’m still figuring out my tradition this year, but I know it’ll be something fun, meaningful, and just for me. Maybe it’ll be crocheting, making pozole, or spending the day sketching new ideas for Chingona Inc. (because creativity is healing, too).

I encourage you to create your own traditions, no matter how small. This season is yours to define, mija.
No matter how you spend the holidays, know you’re in my thoughts. Whether it’s through our shared journey of healing or a little something from my shop, I hope this season brings you moments of joy and peace.
