What I Learned from Traveling Solo for 6 Weeks"

From Burnout to Balance: My Solo Travel Journey

Hey Chingonas,

I got an email recently that really made me stop and think. A follower wrote,
"Thank you! The first video of you was when you were going on a solo vacation and leaving Vegas. That really inspired me because I’ve been wanting to travel and experience what it’s like traveling alone."

Reading that reminded me of just how much I’ve done this year and how far I’ve come. It also hit me that I never really shared my solo travel journey with you all—so let’s change that.

Back in January, I packed up and took off on a 6-week solo adventure. At first, I thought, “Maybe I’ll be gone for months!” I was going through a breakup, tired of saying “one day I’ll travel,” and ready to stop waiting for others to join me. It was time to hacerlo sola (do it on my own).

But let’s be real, I wasn’t just chasing new places. I was running from burnout, from feeling stuck, from not knowing what was next. I had my share of Eat, Pray, Love moments, but I also had moments of loneliness. I learned a lot about myself during that time:

  • I actually love my routine, but sometimes it’s good to shake things up.

  • Staying in hostels was a dream-turned-reality, but there’s nothing like your own bed and a little privacy.

  • Taking that leap, even when scared, was worth it.

Now, as the year wraps up, I’m learning to embrace being still, working less, and letting go of FOMO. I’m finally learning to just be.

And speaking of new beginnings… if you’ve been waiting to start something new, why not make 2024 the year you go for it? If learning a new skill is on your list, I’ve got something for you:

🎨 Beginner Illustrator Classes start in January! 🎨
They’re perfect for anyone who’s been wanting to learn something creative but didn’t know where to start. Bonus: they make an amazing gift for that person in your life who’s always saying they want to try new things.

Let’s make next year about going for it—whatever “it” looks like for you. 💕

P.S. What’s something you’ve been waiting to do? Hit reply and share with me—I’d love to cheer you on!
